Bring five local creatives together in a sought-after Folkestone business location; what do you get? Flourish.
This aptly-named micro brand agency offers strategy, design and content creation for a diverse and impressive client list, a number of whom are based in the Folkestone district. A website re-design for gut-healthy food producer, Troo Foods has been a recent project; creative for the annual TedxFolkestone events; and branding and marketing for Wexer, an international fitness company.
Founder Warren Sutton established Flourish in 2016 and has grown the company from being a solo enterprise to a fully-fledged business with two offices – one at Digital: Glassworks in Folkestone and one in Farringdon, London. Having been brought up in nearby Hythe, his awareness of Folkestone’s regeneration influenced his decision to set up business there.
“I got really busy, really quickly,” Warren explains. “It got to a point where I was thinking ‘I should make a business out of this’, which is how Flourish formed and it’s grown from there. We’re starting to get some great clients and are doing really interesting and creative work for them.”
Warren and the rest of the Flourish team split their time between their Folkestone and London offices, bringing a work-life balance while also having space to meet with clients in the capital.
He continues: “Folkestone is a great town to do business. It has excellent connectivity – London in under an hour – and it’s in easy reach of Europe and the rest of the UK. We’re surrounded by like-minded people, who we can draw upon if we need a freelance videographer, copywriter or designer. Being based at The Glassworks is particularly great for this as it has its own creative eco-system.
“It’s also just a really nice place. When we bring clients down to Folkestone, especially on a clear day when they can see all the way to France, they’re always impressed.
“The district is also an ideal place to bring up a family. It’s got everything – the sea, the countryside and equally London isn’t far away for day trips. There are also excellent places to eat, drink and socialise.”
