FH Stories | Our guide to visiting the Folkestone Triennial

The hotly-tipped Folkestone Triennial has burst back onto the scene for a summer of art to remember.

Immerse yourself in The Plot, a curated outdoor arts exhibition of over 25 new artworks by internationally acclaimed artists to be found right across Folkestone.

So, plot out your visit (pardon the pun) with our guide to visiting the Folkestone Triennial.

Getting here

Just 53 minutes from London, it couldn’t be easier to get to Folkestone, hop on a Southeastern high speed train directly from London St Pancras.

By car, you can reach Folkestone in just 55 minutes from the M25 via the M20, and we’re less than two hours from central London. Head for the M20, turn off at any junction between 10 and 13 and follow the signs.

Plan your visit

Discover more about this year’s Triennial on Creative Folkestone’s website and read more about the artists taking part this year – a stellar line-up including Gilbert & George, Morag Myerscough, Sam Belinfante and Rana Begum.

There are downloadable maps if you want to plan your route round Folkestone in advance. Download here.

Or if you’ve come to Folkestone empty-handed, the Triennial’s dedicated visitor centre is located at the Creative Folkestone Quarterhouse in Mill Bay (CT20 1BN) and open daily from 10am – 5pm. You can pick up exhibition guides, book tickets for talks and get your questions answered here: www.creativefolkestone.org.uk/folkestone-triennial/plan-your-visit
