Skate park folkestone

A new urban sports park, believed to be the first of its kind in the world, is coming to Folkestone in 2021.

F51 is a new facility that’s taking shape on Tontine Street. It will include skating and climbing facilities, a boxing gym, function room, offices and a café.

The multi-storey building includes innovative and ambitious features like a suspended concrete skate bowl and a 15-metre climbing wall.

The development has been funded by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, whose investment has helped to drive millions of pounds into the district, from the regeneration of Folkestone Old Town to the transformative Folkestone Harbour Arm.

Together with acclaimed local architect Guy Hollaway, Jenner Group and Shepway Sports Trust they are realising their vision to place a community sports facility right in the centre of the town. As well as being an accessible location for people living locally, F51 is expected to attract new audiences to the town with people visiting specifically to use the world-leading complex.

It was even reported that the sports park has received endorsements from American rapper MC Hammer and pro-skater Bam Margera.
