YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES

Earlier this year, we asked you through the council magazine, Your District Today, to share your favourite place in the district by sending in either a photo, drawing or painting..

From the sand-swept beaches of Dymchurch to the tropical vibes of the Zig Zag Path in Folkestone, we had so many amazing entries to choose from.

It was a hard task to whittle down the entries to four worthy winners, who each received a £25 high street shopping voucher to spend at a local store of their choice.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who took part. It was great to these all your favourite places that make our district so extraordinary.

Here are the four winners of our competition and a little about why they stand out as local favourites.

The Royal Military Canal, Andreacous

We’re spoiled by the number of amazing walks in our district.  A favourite for Andreacous is the Royal Military Canal in central Hythe.

Six-year-old Maya sent in a snap of herself in a t-shirt decorated with a picture of her favourite place: the Lower Leas Coastal Park. She really enjoys playing there with mum Adriana.

Hythe seafront, Ray

Our district has a rich seafaring history with our shoreline home to a fleet of boats. Ray’s entry of a boat in Hythe in the midday sun, really captured that.

Taking a stroll is always fun, but it’s always better if you’re snaking up and down! Carole’s entry of the Zig Zag Path in Folkestone really demonstrated the benefits of taking the scenic route.
