Folkestone edition of Monopoly available now

A special Folkestone edition of the family-favourite board game Monopoly has gone on sale 

Chosen for its trendy status by Winning Moves last year, Folkestone beat St Ives, Bristol and Wakefield to secure the top spot. 

The new game features landmarks from around the district and the cult-favourite game is sure to be a hit with locals, visitors and those with a connection to the area.  

The Leas and the Leas Lift take the place of prime spots Park Lane and Mayfair, and other landmarks include the Channel Tunnel, Radnor Park, Sunny Sands, Folkestone Harbour Arm, The Old High Street, Brockhill Country Park, Folkestone Central station, the Martello Tower, the Old Fire StationFoord Viaduct and the First World War Memorial Arch. 

Folkestone Hockey Club and Folkestone Invicta FC represent the area’s sporting community and businesses Sleeping Giant Media, Wood Finishes Direct, The Grand Hotel, Folkestone Academy Radio feature. Folkestone College also makes an appearance. 

Cultural hotspots and organisations include Folkestone Museum, the Leas Cliff Hall, the Tower Theatre and Creative Folkestone.  

The theme even continues to the playing pieces, which have been replaced with seaside-themed items and players have the option to buy a bucket and spade or ice cream in place of the traditional tax spaces on the board. 

The box includes a leaflet from the Experience the Extraordinary campaign, detailing key places and events taking place around Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh.
